Coming, Going or Somewhere In Between?

It seems that there are days that feel overwhelming and days that feel distinctly underwhelming, but most other days are spent trying to find balance as we oscillate between the two. We are in a state of flux and shift, and at the moment we seem predominantly focused on trying to find balance and remain steady as wave after wave of new energy and new consciousness floods the earth. Understandably we can feel empowered and focused one day, but then lost and confused the next, but without really knowing why. Such rapid shift is intense, but it seems necessary now as we shake up all that we know in order to find Truth.

It is all too easy to feel disempowered and teasy* during such radical change, for we can feel frustrated and thwarted as we try to get from where we are now to where we want to be. There is a sense of breakthrough though as many of us are beginning to see over the fence to pastures new; and we can see, smell, taste and even touch our dreams. Yet, to know where we want to be and to see it is still not quite the same as living it and being it, for until we live it fully we cannot be free of where we are now.

In other words, if we focus on our dreams, our present doesn’t simply evaporate, for we remain in the present moment (there is no escaping that!) so we need to move our awareness fully back into the present moment in order to re-centre. Whilst we may be lucky enough to know what we want from life, it is what we have now that is important. Of course, we may not have the life that we want, but it is the life that we have, and we cannot simply forget this as we head towards pastures new.

We are all creators, and how we think and feel shapes our lives, but when we see the future more readily than the present, we need to ask ourselves what we are running from. Are we trying to escape the reality of the present moment because it simply doesn’t serve our highest good any longer, or are we trying to run from the present because the feelings are too intense and uncomfortable? Either way, it seems important to acknowledge the present moment, not as a way of ignoring where we want to be, but as a way of bringing ourselves more to life so that we can live a more conscious and enriched existence. If we spend our lives chasing all the time, how can we find stillness and balance within? How can we touch happiness or bliss if we spend our lives running for the hills?

In some ways, this all boils down to how we think about life. Do we feel like pawns in a Universal game of chess, feeling powerless to bring about change?  So many see the obstacles and limitations around and wear them as badges, partly to justify being stuck but partly to hide behind them (avoiding the fear of the unknown etc.). After a while, the challenges become the force that shapes life, and with each passing day, the world feels smaller somehow. Yet, it is our circumstances and our challenges that carry the greatest gifts in life, for they reveal our strengths and our true character, and they remind us that we do not have to remain powerless victims of circumstance.

Life can be tough, it can be hard, and yes, sometimes indescribably bad things happen; but  we have a choice. We can let such events define us and take control, or we can lean into these experiences to find our Selves. Whilst we cannot always stop or change the course of events in life, we do have a choice as to how we deal with them. We can find ourselves or lose ourselves, we can acknowledge the pain or deny it, and we can run away or walk right through.

Of course, such experiences can bring anger, fear, denial, pain, rage and so much else to the surface, and these can consume and take over if we allow them to. All these feelings are valid and need acknowledging, but it is important not to give them power, for that depletes us on so many levels.

Life events and circumstances make up a part of who you are, but they do not make you nor do they complete you (but we each have a choice in this regard). In many ways they play the role of ‘button presser’, for they reveal you to you. In other words, they shine a light within and show you the Truth of who you are.

It is time to realise that our life is our own and taking ownership of this may feel daunting, but at the end of the day, until we take responsibility and let go of the crutches, the excuses, the obstacles and the fears, then we can never be fully alive; for in order to live life fully, we need to accept responsibility for the choices we make. Whilst we walk the path with others at our sides, we need to be accountable to ourselves and stop seeking others to blame when things go wrong. We need to stop being dependent on others to lead the way or to take responsibility for our choices.

Life is a gift, and in order to live it to the best of our abilities, we need to choose to be fully alive and conscious in the present moment. This may invoke fear and anxiety, but when we move beyond the fear and step fully into the magnificent flow of living consciously, then we realise that we are Whole. When we are Whole, everything changes, for fear no longer has a hold over us, and we move effortlessly into the role of creator as we re-shape our lives from the inside, out.

With so much happening on so many different levels, it is no wonder that we are feeling discombobulated and teasy, frustrated and uneasy! Yet, at the same time, when we are honest and open, and acknowledge these feelings and we somehow feel more balanced and centred. Of course, riding the currents of such unpredictable shift is not easy, but if we can live more consciously in the present moment, embrace ourselves as creators, accept responsibility for life, and realise that our life experiences bring us strength, then we can begin to regain our sense of Self and feel less like bits of driftwood on stormy seas. When we become One within, we become One with the flow and with everything both within and around us...

A New Consciousness

As we continue to open up our hearts, minds and souls to the process of conscious living, we are beginning to feel the myriad of shifts and changes in a new way. It seems that the more we step into the ebb and flow of change and make the choice to awaken, the more we become aware of the subtle energies and insights that are flooding into consciousness; this awareness enables each of us to let go of resistance and move more naturally with the rapid pace of change.

We are being challenged on many levels to let go, to face our fears, to heal and to become Whole, and whilst this can keep us locked in cycles and patterns of doubt and angst, at the same time we are opening up to a new level of awareness that rides above the angst and keeps us fully awakened and connected to Self. As a result, it is becoming easier to step through the fear and embrace Truth and Love, for these lie at the heart of everything.

Truth is a funny thing, for there can be no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, for it is personal to each and every one of us. Whether or not we agree with another's ‘Truth’ is a different matter entirely, but this is not the focus of these words today.

We are all unique beings and we vibrate on different levels and different frequencies. Of course, we have the commonality of being human, but we are not the same, for whilst together we make up the Whole, each of us has a unique role to play within the vast panorama of the Universe. Yet, so many of us cling to the ‘Truth’s’ of others as goal posts or sign posts in the path of life, and whilst there is no doubt that we can all receive gems of wisdom and nuggets of knowledge from the experiences of others, at the same time, we must be prepared to open up to finding our own Truth, for it is this that will ultimately guide us forward in life, and beyond.

Love is often misunderstood, but it is a powerful Universal force that shapes and defines so much. In a way, Love overrides Truth, for without Love, how can we understand or accept Truth? Love is more than words; it is a way of being and a way of living. Love opens up our hearts, minds and souls to being human, to being spirit and to being Whole, for it is the energy that connects us and brings us together; Love is the force that inspires us and empowers us. Of course, such a force can also lead to discord and anger, for many get lost in power games and denial, but, at the end of the day, Love is the inspiration to bring us back to Self, to the Divine and to Wholeness.

So, as we continue to ride the waves of change, we are stepping ever closer to Truth and Love, and this feels exciting, inspiring, life affirming, but a little nerve wracking, at the same time.
We are now being challenged to go deeply within to face our ‘demons’ and to let go of fear; fear comes in all shapes and sizes, and if left unacknowledged or unresolved, it can fester and turn toxic. This toxicity can lead to a kind of energetic paralysis that binds us to fear and keeps us frozen and immobile, unable to move and afraid of life.

Intuitively we know that we need to face these fears to heal and become Whole, but when fear has such a powerful hold over us, it can be hard to find the path to freedom. The harder we look and the more we fight, the more confused we seem to grow, and it seems that we now need to stop pushing fear away as some ‘dark’ or unwanted power, and instead bring it back into our hearts with love.

Fear is akin to our inner child or inner Self cowering in a corner, afraid to face one or many aspects of life; using this image, we can see that the way to overcome this is to step gently within and take the hand of our inner child, embrace them and shower them with love. Fighting or conquering the fear won’t make it go away, but loving the force behind the fear can change its shape, and, with time, the fear vanishes.

Many of us spend our lives in a consciousness of fear and eventually it becomes the force that defines us. We push it away trying desperately to find bliss, but it is the act of pushing it away that takes us even further from what we seek. It isn’t easy embracing or loving fear, but the only way to step beyond it is to acknowledge it and set it free. The more we fight it, the bigger it becomes, and like the monster in the proverbial wardrobe, we get lost in the battle and lose sight of the bigger picture. We placed the monster in the wardrobe and we have the choice of setting it free, but doing so with Love enables us to reconnect to our power and our Truth as we step closer to Self in the process.

So, as we continue to embrace the concept of living consciously, it seems clear we need to break these cycles and patterns once and for all, for living free is the path to living consciously...

Being Human...

As change continues to ebb and flow, it is becoming increasingly harder to define the true nature of what’s happening. It seems that these somewhat nebulous, indefinable and imperceptible shifts are now happening so rapidly that it is nigh-on impossible to separate one from the other, and, as a result, they are merging into one enormous mass of ‘stuff’. Although we are aware of the overall nature of the change, the details are blurring, and we are losing sight of the bits and pieces, the irritations, the distractions and the diversions. Whilst confusing, this is inevitable, for as we evolve, we begin to step back from the details and the pedestrian-ness of life in order to feel the Truth of our Divinity and touch upon the pure bliss of being a Divine Being.

We can often find ourselves oscillating between daily worries and responsibilities, and spiritual at One-ness and Divine Union. Such a path is challenging, for the path that twists and turns between the two is the path where doubt, fear, anxiety and lack all reside. Even though we can see, feel, touch and taste the magnificence of Divinity, everyday life can keep us locked in cycles of doubt and patterns of lack, loveless-ness and pain. We can feel deep frustration at knowing where we want to be but not being able to find a way to get there. We want answers and understanding, for we are human! It is human nature to solve, resolve, achieve, succeed, and when we can’t, we try even harder.

Yet, the nebulous nature of change is washing over us, creating a sense of bewilderment for a reason; it seems that there comes a time when we have to stop fighting and trying to seek definitive answers to the lofty questions that we all have. Sometimes we have to realise that we cannot put life on hold until we find these answers, for unless we live and embrace the moment, the answers will never come. At the same time, we also need to be open to the possibility that there are no answers, for not everything is definable or knowable.

When we incarnate and step into the world, our need to survive takes over, and, in time, we begin to take on the conditioning and fears that shape and define our lives. If we are lucky, we recognise these patterns and begin to break the cycle, but very often this only happens when we reach crisis state.
As we continue to shift and evolve, the details and the cycles continue to fade away as the bigger picture takes centre stage. It seems that our preoccupation with the details has been our biggest irritation and distraction, for once we step beyond the fears, the doubts and the anxieties, and truly touch the Divine, everything changes, for nothing is the same anymore.

We have now reached something of a collective crisis state, a time of powerful and profound spiritual awakening, and everything is changing. Whilst we may look at our daily lives and see the same things staring back at us just like they did yesterday, energetically, spiritually and intuitively we feel different. It is this awareness that looks set to be the catalyst that inspires each of us to step beyond the boundaries that we have created (consciously and subconsciously) in order to embrace a new way of living and being.

We no longer have to be buoys bobbing around in stormy seas; we can become one with the ocean of life and dance with the waves. This takes courage and heart, for embracing the unknown is never easy, but it feels kind of inevitable now, for we are ready to embark on a new journey; a journey of enlightenment and inspiration. We now realise that we cannot find enlightenment in the things we do (the details) or by the choices we make, for enlightenment comes from within. We are spiritual beings in human form, and it is within our spiritual essence where true enlightenment resides...

Union of the Soul

As the structure of ‘all that we are’ is changing, it seems that a new wave of knowing is filtering into consciousness. This wave feels empowering and inspirational, but indescribable and hard to grasp at the same time. Whilst we can feel this shift, our natural tendency is to want to understand it (indescribable) rather than to simply feel it (inspirational). In other words, by switching into ‘mind mode’ we step beyond how it feels to seek out meaning, but as there is no clear meaning, we get lost in feelings of confusion, for we struggle with the notion that something could ever be ‘indescribable’ or ‘unknowable’, after all, we are human beings and we can always find a label for things; we need to!

Yet, many of us have reached a stage where the need to question has changed, whilst we will always remain inquisitive (for that is how we evolve), we are moving into a clearer and brighter space of living. It seems that this new wave of knowing is bringing us to a new state of being; one where we can ‘be’, rather than one where we constantly need to ‘get’. Such a shift is revolutionary, for to step fully into the ‘being state’ means a readiness to open up to our true spiritual essence and universal vibration. Whilst we have been walking this path for some time, it seems that we have now turned a corner and what we meet feels amazing, life enhancing and wonderful; it feels so positive because we have stepped beyond doubt and fear, and opened up our hearts, minds and souls to Truth, to love and to bliss.

Deep within each of us are feelings that we have always carried, and these feelings are a sense of a ‘bigger role’ or part to play in the orchestra of life. Energetically and spiritually we know that we have work to do, and as we begin to step away from the flock, we realise that it is only by having the courage to touch our bliss (to embrace our divinity) that we begin to gain a clearer sense of what’s next. This takes courage, for it means letting go of a great deal of what we hold dear; it means accepting that everything changes and acknowledging that we are ready to let go of so much in order to embrace so much more.

Whilst so many continue to seek value and meaning outside of themselves, there is a growing realisation that this will make for a long search, for the true riches and treasures are within. Heaven on Earth is within each and every one of us; it always has been and always will be. Of course, having a car, a house, money in the bank etc. can make life more enjoyable, but unless we can revel in the joy of spiritual abundance, then none of it matters, as life feels empty and shallow.

Yet, how do we balance our daily needs with such a lofty and profound spiritual purpose? Well, it seems that we need to acknowledge that we are spiritual beings in human form, and once we do this, we can truly rest in the state of ‘being’ and from here everything changes. Once we let go of chasing external fixes and once we stop trying to ‘get’ all that we need, it just happens and we become whole. This takes unbending faith, trust and belief, but we are ready now.

‘All that we know’ has changed and will keep on changing, for that is the inevitably of being part of the Universal flow. The challenge we have, is in stepping into the flow with an open heart and becoming One with it...
